CambridgeCommon Tempo

Choose your pace. Add your part.

A living score for community participation

A careful, illustrated Android companion for older adults, adult companions, volunteers and adults preparing inclusive gatherings.

Android field guide

One gathering can hold more than one rhythm.

Cambridge Common Tempo helps an adult choose how to arrive, observe, join, contribute, pause and leave. The app presents broad illustrated pages and fixed choices; it does not ask anyone to explain, score or publish their needs.

Begin where you are

Start quietly, with one or two people, or with a wider circle. A different choice tomorrow is equally valid.

Take a visible pause

Comfort prompts make room for a seat, a drink, quieter company, fresh air where permitted, or a simple change of plan.

Contribute in many ways

Listening, arranging materials, making, welcoming and sharing practical knowledge can all be meaningful participation.

Keep people in charge

Every tool is optional. The app never assigns a role, judges sociability or turns a temporary choice into a participant record.

What it is

A companion, not a timetable

The app turns general participation ideas into nine visual movements. Each movement contains illustrated readings and one fixed-choice tool that works without a network connection.

Cambridge Common Tempo is not a live schedule, membership system, booking service, venue map, transport service, care platform or attendance register. Current organisers and venue information always take priority.

  1. 01

    Pick the Pace

Choose a workable starting rhythm without providing a reason or personal history.

  2. 02

    Arrival Measure

Think through preparation, approach, pause and entry without pretending to map a real venue.

  3. 03

    Settle In

Compare an edge, pair, small table or wider circle, then move again when that feels useful.

  4. 04

    Join Your Way

Use a short question, listen, make, share briefly or simply observe.

  5. 05

    Make a Measure

Browse fictional creative and tabletop modes without creating a booking or event claim.

  6. 06

    Share the Lead

Offer practical knowledge, humour or a memory without recording anyone.

  7. 07

    Pause and Return

Make space for autonomy, comfort and an uncomplicated change of mind.

  8. 08

    Host the Ensemble

Prepare more than one way to take part and keep real operational responsibility with authorised adults.

  9. 09

    Carry the Coda

Leave at an unhurried pace and carry one useful idea into a future real-world gathering.
